Zach Snider was listed as a sophomore in the results, I thought he was a freshman?

He is a freshman. I don't know why he wasn't listed that way.

Is this meet ran at the Tippecanoe ampitheater or is it run on Purdue's cross country course?

Purdue's XC Course. It's fairly flat except for a couple of hilly sections in the middle of the course.

The Purdue coach said the course was more difficult than last year with more longer hills. I thought it was hotter this year as well.

Ya the first mile was pretty fast, but then the hills and heat made it very hateable

I wasn't there but I'm a Purdue student and I've ran through the course quite a few times and personally i think the footing is what makes it the most difficult.

I am curious to hear how the intersection turned out where the 3rd k and 4th k cross cross each other. Surely there had to be some of the faster guys running through that intersection in the 4th kilometer while slower guys were still running through it perpendicularly to the fast guys during their 3rd kilometer. It sucks that purdue's course had to get shrunk into such a small area and I don't know If i could have planned a better course but that intersection just seemed like a bad idea to me and I felt like it might cause some problems.

Indeed. I'm not sure what could have been done about that but surely something to change it.

On another note, the hills weren't too bad. I usually just power through them and then have a short burst at the top to get back into my grove. It really helps you when racing hills. Plus the guy next to you is like "Oh dang, that hill didn't even faze him."

When Zilenski had to cross through he had to wait for the Gator to get out of the way. It was an issue for a lot of the lead guys. I also saw one of the slower runners go the wrong way and they had to go run him down.

The course needed to be set up by running the short loop first so that the slower runners would have cleared and been on the long loop while the fast runners where finishing. The way they had it set up the boys and girls were crossing and interfering with each other and unless the had a chip check on the course a slower runner could have easily taken a short cut to the finish. Not that anyone would do that but it should not even be a possibility.
