Incomplete results!
Held at Halftime of Peru vs. Logansport game, 2 mile run

Team:
I'm not sure the numbers, but Logan handed it pretty good to Peru.

Individuals:
1. Travis Palmer Logansport 10:55
2. Daniel Arteaga Logansport 10:55
3. Kyle Overway Logansport 10:56
4. Jordan Garretson Peru 11:19
5. Logansport 11:33

After that all i have is peru results:
Tyler Kintner 11:59
Clint Hazelett 12:10
Shane Garretson 12:16
Zachary Allee 12:17
Ryan Carter 12:29
Isiah Stevens 12:35

Girls Results:
Logansport 15
Peru inc

1. Emilie Hobbs Peru 13:12

Gena Fisher Peru 15:08

Boys: Overway just let his teammates win, wasn't a hard day for him at all, but their other two looked real strong... According to Kyle, with about .5 miles to go Jordan Garretson made a move to try to get with the lead pack and apparently died soon later, still came up with 4th. I have some mile splits i'll put below.

Girls: Hobbs easily won this race, and in a PR as well (CONGRATS!) but peru did have an incomplete team and logansport had numbers :) i didn't see any real standouts in this race from the logansport side though :S

Mostly Peru kids, but i have some mile splits i can share:
Top 3 Logansport Boys 5:15
Jordan Garretson 5:25
Tyler Kintner 5:42
Clint ??? 5:44
Shane Garretson 5:56
Isiah Stevens 5:57
Ryan Carter 6:01
Zach Allee 6:01

Girls:
Emilie Hobbs 6:21
Gena Fisher 7:01

Interesting concept..Friday night meet that is. It would be sweet to do the same with a 5k and offset the event so that it would start JUST before halftime outside on a course and they'd just finish during halftime and run into the stadium or football venue...kind of like the Olympic marathon.

Either way it's nice for the sport and kids to get some recognition by a bigger crowd.

Center Grove was big into the concept of the halftime meet while I ran for them. We would run the JV right after school, then run the top 7 plus any senior who could break 20 minutes in a 5k during halftime. Start right as the football team left the field, leave the stadium out onto a course, then reenter the stadium to finish in front of the crowd at the track's start/finish line. While I was in hs it was always against Perry Meridian, but they have since gone on to run against Pike as well.

I always loved the concept of the halftime meet because it is just so cool and gets XC so much recognition. It is also an awesome experience for the athlete taking part in the event and I'm glad to see other schools taking it up.
