Kerr of EN, Schickel of MD, and Sievern of Memorial are all looking very solid at this point in the season and are continuing to improve with every week! Look for them to push each other later on in the season when there is more at stake! They will all be in extremely good position come time for sectionals and regionals. They give the Evansville area much too be excited about when the competition heats up in October!!!

Hey spartan, Trent Nolan has to be in the mix, but none of those guys can handle Sorrells at Regional. This kid is looking like he could be one of the best in the southeast and south west for the next 2 years.

Spartan probably= Nathan Westfall (2nd at Pike Central Regional 2009)... he'll be in the mix as well. Sorrells is definitely the runner to beat but I wouldn't just hand it to him yet, us guys from Evansville have been working really hard to match his level of performance this season.

Don't count out Hunter Motz, it's still early in the year. He has a few good races left.

I'm not loling at the part about Trent Nolan. Also, I seriously doubt Nolan (or Sorrells, if I'm misunderstanding your undefined pronouns) will run under 9:20. I hope they prove me wrong, but I'm not holding my breath.

9:57 as a freshman isn't exactly a guarantee of 9:1x as a sophomore, especially given Barr-Reeve's usual lack of emphasis on the track season.

Don't know who you are and don't really care, but don't be on here sayin things you don't know about who has emphasis on track or anything else. If you want to talk to the source-about where the emphasis is, let me know.

Let's look at Josh Genet for example. He ran 9:49 (I think) as a freshman and barely dipped below 9:20 at state his junior year. Granted, Sorrells is not Genet, and he will probably develop at least slightly differently (not to mention I think Genet doubled in the post-season his sophomore year). I wouldn't put my money on sub-9:20 this spring, though. Sorrells is a great runner, but give him some time. Of course if he does end up under 9:20 this spring, more power to him. Few situations are more fun than when a runner exceeds expectations and proves people like me wrong.

As for the whole "lack of emphasis" thing, I thought it was the least offensive way to make my point. Seeing as that point is ruffling some feathers, I'll just drop it.
