Maybe he simply got beat by two better runners.

Oh indeed, on this day he clearly did. I'm not questioning the other two guys. I'm wondering about his race though. He's a faster guy than what he ran. I'm just wondering if he took time off and just isn't where he can be. If he tripped? If he's just being smart and slowly dropping times throughout the season.

Everyone is different and races differently and goes about things in a different mindset.

Zane winning doesn't surprise me in the lease.

The top two guys ran very well--I want to say the leader broke away around the 2 mile. Food for thought on Frankfort runners--Scott Keeney (Frankfort) ran 16:37 at this exact meet and went on to finish fourth in the state meet in 2004, and West Lafayette beat our 2008 team by 9 points without their #1 runner at this meet only to have us beat them in the Regional. Sensing a trend? Also, last Thursday's meet was run 20 seconds faster than a year ago.

Did anybody notice that Westfield very nearly beat West Lafayette, who is supposedly the 12th best team in the State, without Connor Martin?

i would definetly say B, after last year he has a chip on his shoulder and has probably been thinking about how to approach this season for quite some time. Personally, I think he's just training through so he can peak at the right time. just my opinion tho

Frankfort doesn't go to this race. I don't think all 3 are on the same race course together at the same time until Sectional.

Tim,
If you're not going to peak your runners for a meaningless meet in the middle of August, why even coach at all? Don't you know that meets in the middle of August and having the lead at the mile mark are the keys to success?

Make him do some K's at Deming and get that kid in shape.... LOL

I guess I sounded like it's a bad thing he isn't rolling right now? I'm actually happy he's running this way...shows you don't have to run 15:39 in August to make noise in October. No need to go overboard on the sarcasm.
