Morgan Welsh of McCutcheon beat the old course record by 31 seconds. A lot of great runners have raced on this difficult course over the years. For Welsh to set a new record so convincingly shows he's the real thing!

Did WL use this race as a 'tempo' since they are running again on Tuesday night per their schedule? Noticed that McCutcheon doesn't run again till Sat 8/28.....anyone know when Cooperider and Welsh go head to head again since they don't run in the same conference?

I kind of doubt it. They might not have been going "all out" or Zane might have realized that Welsh was pulling away and it was the first meet of the year so no big deal, but for the most part the rest of the WL team ran pretty good in accordance to their previous PR's and such. This course is also a pretty challenging course, and Welsh is also in great shape.

ok, just trying to get the idea of difficulty, would u say harder easier or close to the same as Brebeuf?

well idk brebeuf but fountain central i am familiar with. the footing is bad the last 2 miles especially in the woods. it has some big hills with one on the last quarter mile of the race...and like a previous poster said some great runners have ran there (all of the McC guys....stockberger,hodgen,russell,stewart,escalera,wethington and some good individuals WL has had from at least the past 5 or 6 yrs...daluga, corredor, also corey scott ran there i believe) and he killed the course record. this kid is for real!
