They amended the course. Last year the course was long by about :45 for the faster runners.

This year it was actually a 5K.

Notes:

-Just in case anyone wondered about slow times, this course will probably be the toughest and slowest any of these teams will face this season

-miles (1.5-3.0) in narrow wooded hiking trails with two steep hills, first hill prob around 40 seconds last hill prob over 1 min

Yea, but those times are still kinda slow for most of those runners. Unless the pace was slow early on, the course is either really tough or still just a little bit long.

There's a suspicion that Fountain Central's course is a little long.

Last year Jiminez-Corredor went 17:09 at FC and then a week later turned in a 16:18 at Western against similar competition, and Western's course isn't exactly "flat".

FC's course is difficult in some places, but it's not "40 seconds slower" difficult.
