Matt Hayes (Roch) = 18:20 (12th place) Caston did not count him in the results.

According to the Logansport Newspaper (Pharos-Tribune), Logansport boys got 2nd...not first. Which is right?

Boys XC

Caston Invite

Logansport (85 points) finished runner-up to Rochester (76) at the 23-team event. The Berries were paced by Jon Flory’s eighth place finish in 18:00. Logan’s No. 1 runner, Tate Gellinger, suffered from the heat and ended up finishing 29th.

Also for the Berries, Travis Palmer placed 13th, Chris Espinoza was 21st, Zeke Alvarez was 22nd and Alex Calisto was 26th.

Caston placed 12th and was third out of the seven Midwest Conference teams. Nate Cousins paced the Comets with a 37th place finish in 19:21. He was followed by Seth Cousins (40th), Kevin Stapinski (45th), Graham Redweik (83rd) and Matt Moss (100th).

Logan won the JV event. Audie Kaufman won in 19:16, and Derek Beckler was second overall in 19:43.

Girls XC

Caston Invite

Logansport placed seventh. Megan Martin led the way for the Berries with a 29th place finish in 23:34, followed by Carina Lange (24:19), Lari Rutschmann (24:25), Bailey McIntire (24:34) and Kelsey Hosler (24:36). The JV Berries were led by Maddi Zartman with a second place overall finish in 24:43.

“I thought Carina Lange ran an outstanding race for us on the varsity in only her second race ever and Maddi Zartman was outstanding in the junior varsity race,” coach Brian Morrill said. “Carina just steadily moved up through the pack and gained about 25 seconds over some of our other runners over the last mile, and Maddi Zartman did some really impressive work all by herself in the JV race. We’ll run her on varsity next week based on how well she competed. Our other runners are capable of running better than we showed. Based on our practices we shouldn’t have had a minute gap between our first place and second place finishers.”

Caston didn’t have a full team because of injuries and illnesses. Kara Smith led the Comets with a 60th place finish in 25:20, followed by Marli Leazenby (28:01) and Maggie Daily (29:28).

See SanityLost17's post in this thread that seems to explain it...a Rochester runner was overlooked. Looks like he was added back in for the results reported in the Logansport paper.

Gotcha! Thanks! Anybody have full results from this meet? I am looking for individual times of runners from a certain team? Send me a private message if you do. Thanks!
