Bedford N. Lawrence Fall Invitational 8/22

Postby AmphibianBeast on Mon Aug 22, 2011 8:29 pm

I don't have the official results from this meet, but here are some highlights and hopefully the results will come soon.

Girls: Taylor Royalty runs away from the competition by nearly beating the second place runner by three minutes and coming in around 19:32 I believe.

BNL girls win with 49 points. Eastern Greene second, and Trinity Lutheran third.

Boys: Jeremy Johnson pulls in another great run as he wins with a 16:36.

BNL once again wins, using a 2-3-4-5-8 score of 22 to outdistance the rest of the field. BNL also had their top five all under 17:30. Seymour came in second, while Jennings County was third.

What happened to Trueblood? He was running low 16's last year.

Trueblood is an interesting specimen. He was running low 16's at the end of the year. He seems to run himself into shape by the end of the year. Expect him to be around where he was last year by the time the state series comes around. The problem he had at this meet was he went out too fast in an attempt to keep up with Jeremy Johnson. But expect him to be able to run at the top and challenge the individual title in the BNL sectional and regional.

Isn't that a silly mistake for someone who has as much experience as Trueblood? Not saying he's a bad runner, but you know what you can and cannot maintain. As for Jeremy Johnson he seems to be having a strong start this season. He's not had a lot of competition from the results I see but he has in the Early Bird and the Cougar Classic from last night. He ran a PR of 16:17 last night and ran 16:25 at the Early Bird. He was running these times last year at the end of the season. I think he will be in 15's by the end of the season. Looking at the results Austin has had a bunch of races in only a few days, so I wouldn't think that they were getting a good workout in like some of the bigger teams out there.

I agree with you. But it seems as though this trend has been continuing through the meets as of late for Trueblood. I also believe that Jeremy Johnson will be one of the guys to challenge the individual title. He's a great guy as well. All the luck to him.

Agreed. I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of Johnson's season. I think he could make some noise.
