Here are the top 10 teams from the state meet yesterday. Listed is their top 5 returners based on results I could find. Any addtions or corrections are welcome. I will hopefully have more teams in the next few days. Also, feel free to list any other team's top 5 returners.

Good job. It might be better to take the average time for each runner this year to discount the track comparisons.

Looks like CN, Carmel, Noblesville, and HSE will all be strong again.

If not even better for CN because if you looked closely Tim Hofmister was in the program for state. And if you follow track Tim got 12th in the mile at state so they can be just as dangerous if he can stay healthy.

Top ten times for CN next year line-up

1.Ocasio- 15:40
2.Diehn- 15:46
3.Kelsey-15:55
4.Beiriger-16:00
5.Sublettle-16:24
6.Baldwin-16:55
7.Powell-16:57
8.Hofmister-unknown but ran in Sec,Reg,semi
9.Burton-17:28
10.Beiriger-17:29

I'm sure that CN will use the exact same program next summer as they used this past summer. The program really improved the runners times from one year to the next. They already have 5 really solid guys that you can assume will be about the same if not slightly better next year if no one gets hurt or sick. And then there is the JV runners that will run the program this summer that will get a lot faster also. CN is going to be the heavy favorite going into next season, and will probably win state just based on how well everyone on there team peaked this year. I'm going to give bill belichick a call and get his best men to find out exactly what CN does during the summer. :|

Seems to work. I think they rival Carmel as the powers of distance running in Indiana over the last 10 years. For them to lose next year someone's going to need to get a BIG chip on there shoulder and put some miles in... and maybe not even then.

It's really funny you say that, because us Columbus East runners see North runners every single day during summer training. Should been watching them more closely, so I could expose their secret?

I know based on these times this is not top 10 worthy material, but our guys are faster than this and will be better next year. Neal and Noah were around the low 17's before this meet, and Alex was not that far behind.

Perry Central:
219 Scheiber,Eric (12) 17:15
213 Bashor,Ian (12) 17:55
222 Schwartz,Neal (12) 18:23
218 Newton,Alex (10) 18:23
216 Gatwood,Noah (12) 19:20

I remember back in the mid 90's when East was the team to beat. Maybe 2010 will bring the return of the East. That use to be an interesting sectional there at Jennings Co.

Vincennes Rivet is going to pretty decent next year and yes that is a bias opinion :)

1)Nathan Westfall (will be 12): Pr 16:16
2)Colin Vieke (will be 10): Pr 17:07
3)Gerard Wise (will be 12) Pr 18:00
4)Trevor Cummins (will be 11): Pr 18:45
5)Jacob Lehman (will be 11): Pr 21:20 and was injured all season

so if they improve there 4-6 just a little they could be solid! at least in their regional and possibly semi state

I know Cathedral loses their top two but they return a good pack of guys who could improve.

Kelly 16:28
Bond 16:50
Parshall 16:51
Walls 17:05
Proffitt 17:08
Stempky 17:10
Crist 17:30

I'm not positive but from what I hear running in a pick pack is really good for a team.

It isn't rare for athletes to be listed under the wrong grades in the tournament. I'm pretty sure that Marowski of Noblesville was listed as a senior but is actually a junior. I was under the impression that the Millers return their top five. Can anyone back me up or refute this?

Nope, I know Cody and he is a senior. Watch for him to be making some noise this spring!

Also, I can't believe there is already a thread about next year. It is a year away! Who knows which guys will sit around and play video games and which guys will go out and put in the work.

On October 12, Chesterton was ranked #6. They finished second. Nineteen days before the state meet, predictions made by people with much more knowledge in this area than most of us were way off. Any predictions made a year in advance are just a shot in the dark.

Columbus North was 16th a year ago, and won this year with 63 points. A year from now, some kid is going to step up big in the state meet and snag a medal. A 2-5 pack is going to come up big behind a top-10 frontrunner and get their team on the podium. Someone is going to have the race of their life and finish second to Futsum. Four kids are going to win semistate. Out of the above things, the only things I feel safe predicting is that Futsum Zeinasellassie and James Martin will be two of the four semistate champions. Other than that, it is impossible to predict who is going to step up on that specific day.

lifesgood, I thought this was a 2010 State Meet thread, looks like you are predicting the Franklin Central Semi State. Why don't you pull your head out of your central indiana ass and recognize that there are runners in other parts of the state. As someone stated above, even without David Osborn, Chesterton the 2ND PLACE TEAM IN THE STATE OF INDIANA (ahead of all the FC Semi teams that were supposed to beat them) will be very strong again. I very much enjoy reading and following Indiana CC on this website but the central Indiana bias is almost too much to take. Oh, and here are my predictions for next year
1. Chesterton
2. LaPorte
3. Concord
4. Valpo
5. New Prairie

One side of me agrees that there is too much Central Indiana bias on IR.
The other side of me says "Don't get mad, get even"

If more enthusiasts from outside of Indy posted then the bias would be equal or not noticed.

But it is irritating at times

Possibly the worst predictions I've ever seen. There's a reason for the so called bias. The teams from the FC semi state went 1,3,4,6,7,8. The teams that come out of that semi state are better. Period.

Lifesgood's predictions aren't so far-fetched. Central Indiana is dominant. There may be some bias, but 6 in the top 8 speaks loudly as to why people give Central Indiana the attention. Chesterton and Laporte and THN definitely could get on that podium as well as some others I'm sure, but it isn't that unlikely for 5 FCSS teams to be picked, especially a year early.

There are plenty of good runners and teams in spots other than central Indiana. However, the results and times do not lie...there are more in Central Indiana, and if you are too focused on other parts of the state to realize that then too bad.
I guess I will continue the so-called "Central Indiana Bias" and say that a team that will come up big time next year will be Hamilton Southeastern. If no one gets hurt I'd call them a podium team for sure. You call everyone biased toward Central Indiana chrisgriffin...just take a look at your own predictions. Looks like you're predicting some northern state meet that will take place including only teams north of Kokomo.
