If Valpo walked off with the first place trophy, they need to make arrangements to get to the real winner...MISHAWAKA! Valpo was awarded placings in the 20's that are way out of line. My score has the Caveman by at least 2 points.

Y'all better get your story straight! I mean, there ARE results right? They didn't leave it to spectators to hand score the meet on the fly did they? So maybe could we get some ideas of the times these teams were running? Honestly though, it is pretty funny reading stuff about this meet. I think currently we have Mishawaka blowing out Valpo, Mishawaka barely edging Valpo and then Valpo by 3 over the Cavemen. Wow! What a day at New Prairie!

The timer was not catching people crossing the first mat and other glitches. Anyone watching the meet closely knew that it was really, really close meet between Valpo and Mish with maybe the edge to Valpo. Original results had Valpo by 5 but Mish 1 & 2 were moved back one place than actual finish. They corrected that but other coaches started to notice that their times or places were off too. The "chip" was in the number worn on the jersey and instuctions were to pin 'below the belly button' An official admitted that did have some chip reading errors when testing. My guess that in the pile up between mat one and two, many chips didn't read at the first mat or not at all. I hope the NP people do their best and work it, it can't be easy.

As far as Valpo not getting places in the 20s, I don't know. Their 3-4-5 came through almost together behind Mish 4 who placed in the 20s

Valpo's 3-4-5 ran times of 16:26, 29 and 30. I know all their places were in the 20s.
Valpo first two were third and sixth.
And this was without Ahmad Aljobeh.

I know Herber and Culler ran 16:19 & 16:26 but they had them at 16:38&1616:41! That is what I had on my watch.
There was glitches but I think considering everything went fine at such an amazing event!

I was very impressed with Valpo. Not having their #1 and they looked like a top 5 team today.
Mish went 4-9-11...their 4 beat Valpo 4 by :12 but Valpo 5 beat their 5 by :09. It was close, hopefully all the scoring gets worked out correctly for the kids sake.

So does anyone have actual results of this? If not, does anyone have information about the girls races?

Single A boys winning team was beecher (IL). Top runner was from Beecher too - under 16 minutes.
Girls single A team was Tri County, then Hebron. Two Fremont girls were 1-2 in that race

Sorry I don't have full results but there definitely an issue with the "chips"

The timing company is reviewing the results, but whoknows how long that will take. There were over 10 coaches with issues/complaints about their time/places. Like when Bobbie Burgess of West Lafayette won the girls AA race. neither of the mats got her finish. The timers literally grabbed her and made her go through the finish again, adding ~ 10-15 to her time. Her "official" time is 18:34, but her coaches get her in the 20s or teens. So that was easy to spot b/c she was winning by wide margin. How many others didn't get noticed.
But what I have from the meet results handed out:
Girls AAA
Winner Ashley Erba (Warsaw) 18:16
2- Cominator (Northridge) 18:35
3- Woods (Penn) 18:38
Top 15 TEAMS (31 teams)
1) FW Carroll - 102
2) Penn - 125
3) Warsaw - 135
4) Chesterton - 145
5) Crown Point - 170
6) Valpo - 174
7) Portage - 195
8) lake Central - 197
9) Northridge - 219
10) Martinville 300
11) Mishawaka 326
12) LaPorte 444
13) Munster 455
14) Concord 460
15) Harrison (WL) 471

No, Spence, it was not an "amazing event" if the times were all wrong. It can at best be called "disappointing", more accurately "a disaster".

If they can't get the timing/scoring right, it can't be anything else. If they have video to validate all the finishers, then it can be saved... and in this day of cheap cameras and flash drives there is NO excuse NOT to have video backup... but if not, there is nothing else to say but that this was a train wreck. We'll see what they end up with. I hope for the best... I've been standing next to the tracks at a scoring train wreck before... it's not pretty.
