Schools top 7 ever.

Postby TrackSax4x8 on Wed Oct 28, 2009 5:34 pm

So, after reading the "Columbus North Burn out thread" and seeing all the "what if wagner was still there, what if dylan was still there for zionsville. I thought id make a topic about. If your could put your top 7 runners together one 1 team from 10 years ago till now (they dont have to the best top 7 in school history, they can be just like big time preformers, but have to all have went to the same school...example, Eric Redman & Futsum +5 others)

Also, how would they stack up against some other teams & would they have won team nationals...etc...just a thought.

Franklin Central

1. Aaron Fisher 15:12
2. Jason Crist 15:20
3. Adam Green 15:36
4. Scott Lasiter 15:43
5. Brian Dunn 15:52
6. Adam Settle 16:18
7. Joe Talhelm 16:19

These guys are all from the past ten years. Pretty good top 5, would defiantely win state titals...nationals, anythings possible but I don't know too much about teams from other states so I could not sya for sure. If you are going top 7 ever I'd have to go with a different line-up wiht a different team. Thought I'd try to make a great team from something other than Carmel or Colombus North. Those are their best times as far as I know but correct me if i'm wrong as it was hard to find to much info on some of em'

since i was researching Pendleton for the History thread here is what I got: 2003-2009

1 Haggerman 15:02
2 Hardacre 15:21
3 Hendershot 15:43
4 Carey 15:52
5 Williamson 16:06
6 Mills 16:10
7 Nybore 16:12

Not bad for a team who has now sent 1 and only 1 team to state as of this year!

What if we did it by state meet finish rather than by time (since time is partially a function of what courses people ran on/when they ran on them anyway)?

Columbus North:
Wagner 1st 2003
Hutton 10th 2002
Dixon 11th 2003
Smith 19th 2003
Baker 20th 2004
Milroy 21st 2003
Cave 25th 2005

These are not all of their PR's. Fisher was 15:07. Green was around 15:25 I believe. Dunn was 15:37, and Lasiter was 15:38. Talhelm was 15:54 at Marion County in '08, but I'm not sure about Settle. Im sure Mark Rode ran faster than settle at the state meet in '98, maybe around 15:40.

Well since Fishers and HSE used to be combined, if you took the top 7 from both of those programs you'd have a pretty good group.

Sorry, johnnyrunner, but Coach Moeller is tied for 7th man. Dennis Hood and Don Pearman also placed ninth at state. I'm hoping some young pup displaces all three of them tomorrow. Maybe we should start a 12 man roster?

what happens if the years are extended to the past 20 years instead of 10...

North Central

08 Ziennasellasie 2nd...1st as of tommorrow
97 Phariss 1st
92 Hammer 2nd
00 Redman 7th
98 Borlik 17th
04 Stevenson 18th

Warren Central would add Fendel in there, FC would add Rode, LN would add nothing. Suprisingly Southport would have a really solid team if you go back 20 years as well.

12th - A. Dannemiller - 2005
