I say unless something freak happens, they win the state title. Scoring 44 points in the Carmel Semistate is ridiculous. I don't honestly see how they couldn't win. Times don't necessarily matter, the courses have been awful and they have no competition in there sectional and regional.

I know this will piss all those Carmel fans that keep picking CARMEL to win in there little predicitions BUT...

CN's 2-7 would have won that Semi-State. They didn't look burned out 3 days ago when they SMOKED Noblesville, Carmel, and North Central. CN's coach knows what he's doing, he'll have his kids ready to race saturday. Even IF someone gets sick... come on 2-7 would have won that Semi-state who freaking cares. If someone else wants that state title they will have to show up saturday with a lot more than they've had all year and TAKE IT from them because CN will not be "burned out" and give it away.

Soooooooo, the big question of the week is will they be able to hold on and come home with a state title. What are some thoughts?

They started hitting their ppm's in august

Their 3-7 would have beat hanson's

I don't think CN winning a state title is a matter of them "hanging on" as you say, to be honest, it's blatantly clear they're the favorite..

They hit their peak in the middle of the season?
If you are comparing their times now to Martinsville's course, then that just isn't fair. While it is a fair length course according to many accounts, it is widely known that is a very fast course with many PR's set there.

Also, look at their times over the past few meets, then look at the competition. They completely DOMINATED the Carmel Semi-State. They blew 3 other top 5 teams out of the water.

There is a reason why the race is run, and surprises can happen. But to say they will "burn-out" is not a very accurate statement in my opinion.

I wish my team could be consider "burned out" and still get 1st with 44 points in hardest semi state in the Midwest.

I don't think that CN is burning out. They are a very solid team 1-7. Somebody will have to take the title from them because they won't give it away.

However, I would not be too concerned about them "blowing" the field away at SS. Carmel ran horrible. Guys were out sick, guys ran sick, and mostly they just didn't perform. I'm expecting a much better performance from them this weekend.

I also don't think that NC, Noblesville, THN, and Chesterton are quite ready to settle for 2nd place.

I also think that there are a lot of individual runners this year that will go hard early and set the pace. It will probably be which team is able to adapt the best who will give CN the best competition. Carmel can't afford to let the lead pack get away from them like they did at SS. There was simply too much ground to make up.

Predictions
1. CN
2. Carmel
3. Noblesville
4. THN
5. NC
6. Chesterton

Timmy you must of never seen Columbus North run cross-country. It's literally disgusting to watch them run. The only thing stopping them of a state title is:

1. Dylan comes back to Zionsville
2. They go the wrong way.
3. The gator explodes in front of the lead pack and finishes them all. (perry central ftw!)
4. O'Herron transfers to North Central OR Garrett transfers to Noblesville

Columbus North ftw

Yes. definately, none of these other teams can match these guys, number 4s and 5s are juts no match, expecially with North Central's team banged up. Carmel's top two are very good, however after that mid 16's just won't cut it to hang with the dogs. I do not agree that Colombus North is burning out at all. Some of Diehm and Kesleys best runs have been at regionals and semi-state, brooks is stepping it up as well. Beriger did not have a great semi-state, but he did well at regionals, and is sure to do well at state. The only one that has not gotten better is Scruton, but he has not gotten much worse....so, no no one will beat them. One interesting thing to ponder....what if CN still had Wagner...how insane would that team be.

Just wanted to say to the people who voted that Columbus North is "burned out" I sure hope my team is "burned out" on saturday. Considering how CN was "burned out" in the semi-state, I'm hoping we are burned out too... Really some of you need to get a little perspective.

In all fairness, the poll does ask will CN hold on to win state? I completely agree with you, just saying.

Hey Timmy, I love you on South Park. Nice sarcasm.

Columbus North's three through seven places would have WON the Carmel semi-state (look it up) by one point.

CN's 3-7 wouldnt have won the meet, due to the fact you still need to take out the 1-2 runners for CN which would move other places up like carmel, noblesville, nc...etc...

Mr. Timmy, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

One of my favorite quotes of all time.... I use it often. And for all you tools that keep putting Carmel #1 and voting that CN is burned out, it could not be more true. Well spoken.

Duh
You would also move all of the Columbus North runners up two spots as well!!
CN 8,9,10,17,46 = 90
Nob 11,14,19,20,27 = 91
Car 4,6,25,40,48 = 123
NC 1,12,13,45, 53 = 124.

1. COLUMBUS NORTH
5 6 10 11 12 (19) (48) = 44
ANDREW DIEHN, CHRISTOPHER KELSEY, GABE OCASIO, EVAN SCRUTON, CORBIN
BROOKS, ANDREW BEIRIGER, MIKE HUDECEK
2. NOBLESVILLE
13 16 21 22 29 (44) (56) = 101
RYAN FERGUSON, SAM ROUDEBUSH, CODY MAROWSKI, CHRISTIAN BOWERS, COLLIN
GINEBAUGH, RUSS GOODWIN, JAMES WILLMAN
3. CARMEL
4 8 27 42 50 (62) (71) = 131
CHRIS WALDEN, TOM OHLMAN, GRIFFIN BRUNK, ERIC KINN, DAN PORTER, ZACH
RUTHERFORD, STEVEN GOMEZ
4. NORTH CENTRAL (INDIANAPOLIS)
1 14 15 47 55 (60) (96) = 132

I don't think they will, but even if CN's guys do "burnout", they will still be fast. These are a few sub 16 guys and I think 12 sub 17 guys we are talking about. They aren't going to just start running mid 18's all of a sudden. They are great runners and even if they do "burnout" they will probably still be fast enough to compete with all the teams at the state meet.
