Big Tens

Postby drew on Wed Nov 04, 2009 9:14 pm

The Big Ten Meet was Sunday and it didn't get much play on here, I guess becuase neither IU or Purdue had good meets BUT... Zach Mayhew from IU (TH North) finished 6th. Both IU and Purdue are made up of several former Indiana High School kids so here's the link for anyone who wants to check it out.

Next up: NCAA Great Lakes Regional at IU.

Predictions:
1. Wisconsin
2. IU
3. Butler
4. Ohio State

I'm predicting only IU and Wisco will qualify for Nats this year from this region.

Butler should get in as well. Unless Ohio State, Michigan, or Notre Dame finishes ahead of Wisco, IU, or Butler, three teams (Wisco, Butler, and IU) will go. The third, I'm guessing either Butler or IU will make it based off wins this season. If one of those others was to break up those top three, things would get interesting.

Yeah the Kolas calculator is very good. Their 100% accurate one didn't come out until after regionals last year however... so don't be fooled by that just yet. A lot of teams still have to prove themselves in the race.

Wow talk about improvement! Zach Mayhew goes from a 7th place state finals finish in '07 to a 6th place finish in the Big Ten conference in '09 and LEADS his team as well!! Great run Zach!
