I'd say its a bit too early to be putting NC up there. Just my input

A close one, but I'd give it to Carmel. Although it would be interesting to see the 07 shields and the 09 Futsum going at it. Did Alex Shields run in 07?

Like someone else said, It's too eraly to determine since NC '09 has only had one meet however

15:50
16:10
16:13
16:19
16:39

for the first meet is ridiculous. They look like they can get 4 under 16 and maybe even 5. There's still 2 months to go so going down 40 seconds isn't out of the question.

But for now i'll have to give it to Carmel '08

Shouldn't we wait until after the season to compare these three teams considering North Central has run one meet and the other two had full seasons?

i think it would be Carmel of 08. Followed closely by fishers of 07. also if anyone else remebers fishers was barely the fastest team in the state that year with laporte running an extremely close second. they could also be thrown in the mix.

Actually, Carmel had a team extremely close to them at the state meet as well. Carroll only finished ten points back--the same spread between Fishers and LaPorte the year before.

Let's wait a little bit of time before we start comparing this year's North Central squad to past champions. They looked great at Brebeuf, but I think Denny Green would agree with me when I say it's not time to crown them just yet.

No doubt, fishers had the best individual runners and the best team all together. Collegiate athletes: Cale allen, Drew shields, Alex Shields. All of them were all-state all of them competed at national levels and Drew shields is a God. Carmel had a great team and great chemistry. It's a little early for NC they put a show on at Brebeuf, but already giving them the championship? We need to calm down a little bit. They're pack will get broken up once they get to a state-like competition.

the 2007 LaPorte and 2008 Carroll teams should also be in this mix of discussion if the 2009 North Central team is gonna be played with in this type of discussion

If you dont WIN the state meet then you dont get discussed as an all-time-great team. You can go undefeated the entire season, but if you lose at state you are erased as a potential all time great team. None of these meets mean crap, does anyone remember that James Martin sucked all year the past two CC seasons, NO, they just remember that he ran awesome at state. Its the ONLY meet that matters (besides placing high enough in the tournament to make it to state).

P.S. I know that a lot of other meets matter for 99% of runners in the state. I am only referring to teams that hope to be state champion or discussed as potential all time great teams.

I'm going to guess that a combination of HSE and Fishers this year might not even sneak onto the podium.
